Hi Prince,

First of all, sorry for the late response.
A single tenant in Microsoft 365 supports several domains. In my company, we have several domains for each of the sub-companies and all are in the same tenant. SharePoint permissions will take of secure access to SharePoint resources. Here, we use Exchange Online, and mailboxes and shared mailboxes are created in the same instance of Exchange Online in our single tenant.
You don't have to create a separate tenant for this unless you want a higher degree of isolation between the two companies.

Hope it helps,
Miguel

Oh dear Miguel,

Such a fantastic post! Recently, my company bought a new company. Our domain is domaina.com, and we have a tenant in 365 with hybrid Entra join. We bought a company with domainb.com and only one IMAP server for email. What is your best practice for sharing resources like Teams, SharePoint, shared mailboxes, and all of them with the new company?
Please give me your best practice.

Hello Eddy,

I still haven't tried that scenario yet.
Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXbLGTI1iUI, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/users/groups-assign-sensitivity-labels?tabs=microsoft#troubleshooting-issues and https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1701631/applying-sensitivity-labels-to-groups-best-practic.

Thanks

Thank you very much for this tutorial. How do files with sensitivity labels applied to them behave when membership to the label is based on dynamic group? I have create a label and distributed it to a dynamic group. I have then tagged a word document with this label. At a later stage I also amended the dynamic group to include more users, however the new employees in the group never get access to the previous old word document. How does this work? I have waited a couple of days, still the behaviour is that new employees within the group still do not have access to old documents.

The PowerShell Script won't work because the patch is checking for the sts and wssloc files. You only need one uber patch file now.

The key actions that the script would have performed are to pause search, disable and stop the SPTimerV4 and stop W3SVC service.

Run the patch install.

Then, Enable and Start SPTimerV4 Service, and W3SVC service when the patch is installed.

Finally, resume search after all SP Servers have the patch installed on them.

Terrific summary Miguel. The other important nuance is whether members added to Standard, Private, and Shared channels also gain access to the General channel including the Files tab. The answer is that as members of the Team, members of Shared and Private channels DO have access to the General channel (as well as to other Standard channels), while those who are members only of a Shared channel DO NOT have access to the General channel.
