I believe that although the farm is 4 years without any update, the process is the same.

I have a farm that requires updating from an August 2019 CU to date (4 years worth of updates). Is there an inherent risk to running the process as described? Anything I need to watch out for?

The search service application is the most complex component in a SharePoint farm. However, the suspend shouldn’t freeze. The goal is to suspends the search service application, pausing all crawls and search operations. What are the hardware characteristics of the farm (RAM Memory, CPU, etc).

Please ensure that the hardware is compliant with SharePoint requirements.

This has to do with security protection that Microsoft has included from September 2020 Cumulative Update.

I received the following error after following your guide when the Sharepoint Central Admin Site auto loaded after successfully running the configuration wizard.

The type Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.CentralAdminMenuPage, Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.Administration, Version=16.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c could not be found or it is not registered as safe.

Do you know of any resolution for this and why it might of happend?
